Liviu B. Saimovici, M.D., Board Certified
– Diplomate of the American Board of
Ophthalmology, is the Founder and Surgical
Director of Advanced Eye Care, a private diagnostic
and multi-laser treatment facility.
Dr. Saimovici was awarded the Bachelor of
Science in Electrical Engineering, graduated
Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina.
He began his medical training at the Medical
University of South Carolina, and completed
his residency in Ophthalmology at the renowned
Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington,
D.C., where he was appointed to the position
of Chief Resident at several Washington Hospitals
and was responsible for the training and supervision
of resident surgeons.
Dr. Saimovici's is a member of the Mount
Sinai Medical Staff and School of Medicine
Faculty. He is an attending physician at Manhattan
Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Beth Israel
North, Doctor's Hospital and Cabrini Medical
Center. Inventor, teacher and mentor to other
doctors, he teaches them how to perform various
laser vision correction procedures.
In New York City, since 1983, Dr. Saimovici
has treated thousands of patients, and they
all have achieved perfect or near perfect
vision. Many of them see better now, than
they ever did with their best glasses or contacts.
Dr. Saimovici takes a discriminating, caring
approach toward all his patients.
As a COMPREHENSIVE VISION CORRECTION SPECIALIST,
he performs all FDA approved procedures. This
allows him to “customize” the
treatment for each patient, to suit his or
her particular needs. He does not hesitate
to turn away patients who are not suited for
any procedure. Excellent outcomes, patients’

A strong believer in the efficacy and safety
of laser vision correction, Dr. Saimovici
had his eyes corrected over five years ago.

says the doctor.
Over the last decade, Dr. Saimovici has seen
greatly diverse types of patients who have
either required or elected to undergo eye
surgery. His areas of surgical expertise include
microsurgery for the correction of cataracts
and glaucoma. He also has a special interest
in laser vision correction (PRK/LASIK). He
provides a full range of eye care services
as well as specializing in the prescribing
and expert fitting of the latest contact lenses.
As a true engineer, having been awarded
a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
from the University of South Carolina, Dr.
Saimovici is able to maintain, calibrate,
fine tune and service his office equipment
and lasers, hence allowing for their highest
level of performance and accuracy. With his
extensive surgical and technical background,
Dr. Saimovici was able to design a new instrument
for use in cataract surgery, which presently
is being manufactured by the Bausch &
Lomb Company.
