CK (Conductive Keratoplasty)

CK stands for Conductive Keratoplasty, a safe and non-invasive way to reduce the need for reading glasses. If you are over 40 and have always had good distance vision but are having trouble seeing clearly up close, CK may be able to help you. The procedure takes about 3 minutes and involves a tiny filament that releases radio waves around the outer edge of the cornea. The radio waves steepen the center of the cornea to improve near vision. For most people, only one eye needs to be treated.

In FDA studies, CK was performed on hundreds of eyes and found to provide excellent patient satisfaction with a low incidence of complications. The only short-term side effects observed were a foreign-body sensation during the first 24 to 48 hours, and slight initial nearsightedness that reverts to normal over time.
