Liviu B. Saimovici, M.D., Board Certified – Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, is the Founder and Surgical Director of Saimovici Lasik, a private diagnostic and multi-laser treatment facility.
Dr. Saimovici was awarded the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina. He received his medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the renowned Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he was appointed to the position of Chief Resident at several Washington Hospitals and was responsible for the training and supervision of resident surgeons.
Dr. Saimovici is a member of the Mount Sinai Medical Staff and School of Medicine Faculty. He is an attending physician at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital / Lenox Hill Hospital. Inventor, teacher and mentor to other doctors, he teaches them how to perform various laser vision correction procedures.

With his extensive surgical and technical background, Dr. Saimovici was able to design a new instrument for use in cataract surgery, which presently is being manufactured by the Bausch & Lomb Company.
